Willie Jean Hawkins-Brown
December 18, 1942 – March 26, 2022
Mrs. Willie Jean Brown 79, of Baytown, TX; was granted her wings on Saturday, March 26, 2022, after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Willie “Jean” Hawkins was born on December 18, 1942, to loving parents, the late A.L. and Mattie Austin Hawkins in Waco, Texas.
She was a true soldier in the army of the Lord and she fought a good fight, never losing hope and continuing to smile. Jean confessed her faith in Christ at the age of 12 and became a member of Mt Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church. During her early years, “Jean” received her education at the Texas Blind, Deaf and Orphan (BDO) school in Austin, Texas. It was here, that she met and developed lifelong friendships spanning decades. She went on to attend Lee College in Baytown, Tx where she studied cosmetology. Jean had a smile that would brighten up the room and a caring loving disposition that once you encountered her, she was immediately family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers A.L, L.D, Floyd, Claude and Glen Hawkins, and sister Unedia Franklin.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories, a devoted daughter: Renee Lethridge (Larry) of Baytown, Tx, a loving son: Randy Humphrey (Connie) of Richmond, Texas, 6-grandchildren, Jeanee’, Ronesha, Brooklin, Randi, Kolton, and Kyli; 9-great grandchildren, sister Carolyn Degrate, brother Carl Hawkins and special daughter/niece: Tammye Thomas of Baytown, Texas as well as a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
