Walter Leroy Chavis 77, of Beaumont, TX; passed May 04, 2021.

Services are Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Our Lady of Sorrow North Hwy 90 China, TX. Rosary will begin at 9AM until Funeral Mass at 10AM. Cremation Services will follow the Mass. 

Walter was born on September 9, 1943 to the late Odelia and Joe Chavis in Anahuac, Texas. Later the family moved to China, Texas where he was baptized early in childhood.

Walter attended J. H. Henderson School he enjoyed baseball, basketball, and drawing, his union with former wife Sandra Scott, five children were born. Walter worked of Unocal 76 after several dedicated  years of service he retired.

He was preceded in death by his Parents: Odelia and Joe Chavis; Sons: Jermiah and Nehemiah Chavis; Sister: Josephine Scott; Brothers: John Chavis, Joseph Chavis, Saul Chavis, Lee Chavis and Peter Chavis.

He leaves to morn, Children: Jerod (Kishia), Pierre (Shaniqua), and LaTonya; Grandchildren: Geneva Roberts, Jennie David, Mary Hall, Anneva Edward; Brothers: Paul Chavis, Elroy Chavis and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
