Rosa Lee Malveaux Zeno was born April 6, 1948 in Opelousas, Louisiana to the union of Vivian Malveaux, Sr. and Mamie Edwards Malveaux. Rose, as everyone called her, was the 7th of fifteen children and the last child to be born in Louisiana. Rose was born with a veil over her eyes which made her sensitive to the spiritual world. Rose would know and see things sometimes before they would occur. She graduated from Charlton Pollard High School in Beaumont, TX. Rose moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma to further her education. However, when her father died, she moved back home to help her mother with the younger siblings still at home. Rose met and married Edward Zeno, Jr. on April 25, 1970. Rose worked as housekeeper supervisor over 20 years at La Quinta until she retired in 1998. Rosa Lee was a very humble, kind, caring, funny, loving, strong and faithful woman of God. Rosa Lee loved the Lord with all her being. Rose accepted Christ in her life as a young child but rededicated her life to Christ in 1987 under the leadership of Pastor Taylor at Believer’s Temple Church of God in Christ. She was an active member of her church, in the Church of God in Christ (COGIC) and Baptist community. Everyone knew her as Sis. Zeno. Rose was the church secretary, in the choir, praise team leader, an usher, leader of the women’s ministry, on the mission board, Sunday school teacher and most important a prayer warrior. Rose was an awesome woman of God who loved teaching, sharing and learning God’s Word. Rosa Lee Malveaux Zeno had a spiritual anointing on her so strong everyone who came in contact with her could feel it. She never lost faith in God through her illness or any trial she went through.

Along with her parents Vivian and Mamie Malveaux, Sr., Rose was preceded in death by her sisters, Agnes Morale, Bernice Malveaux and Irene Malveaux; brothers, Earl Malveaux, Sr., George Malveaux, and L.C. Malveaux, and her two godsons, Lawrence Malveaux and Michael Glasper.

Rose leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of 50 years, Edward Zeno, Jr., their children together, Edwina Rene’ Derry (Nassiera), Serena Reed (Shawn) and Avery Zeno, and two bonus daughters by her husband, Elizabeth Wise (Steve) and Whitney Chavis, nine grandkids, Briana and Darius Derry, Kamryn, Bri’Anna, and Kane Torres Reed, Jericho, Felicia, and Tyesha Wise, and Ja’Korean Moore, and seven great-grandkids. She also leaves 4 brothers, Vivian Malveaux, Jr. (Kathy), Pastor Roy Malveaux, Sr. (Kaffie), Pastor Allen Malveaux (Norma), and Deacon Mike Malveaux, Sr. (Carolyn); four sisters, Leanna Glasper (Hushel), Shirlene Williams (Deacon Horace), Sherry Winfrey (Pastor Donald) and Catherine Fontenot (Louis), one godchild My’Unique Washington, three sister-n-laws Mary Fontenette, Martha Ann Watts (Ronald), and Veronica Garrett Shilo (Paul) and two brother-n-laws, Wilbert Zeno (Lisa) and Jerry Zeno (Patricia) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
