Mona Lisa Hunter-Stimpson was born January 2, 1951 in Silsbee, Texas to Artis, Sr. and Geneva Hunter. Mona answered the Lord’s call on Monday, March 1, 2021.

Mona Stimpson attended Frazier Waldo Matthews Silsbee High School and was a member of the Class of 1970. She went on to attend Job Corp. Mona was a devoted choir member as well as kitchen support staff member until her health failed.

Mona was a truly devoted family person. She, along with her late sister, Kathy Lee, organized the first local Hunter Family Reunion because it was very important to her that “family knows each other and stays in touch”. The pride and joy of her life were her grandbabies.  She was affectionately known as “Granny” to a great number of children and grandchildren that she touched in her lifetime.

Mona loved cooking for family and friends. She enjoyed following her grandbabies in their extracurricular events, shopping and hanging out with her BFF and sister. She lived a life of service to others and was always concerned about everyone else until God said: “servant well done”. Her giving heart and willing spirit was used for the glory of God.
