On April 8th two days after his 79th birthday @ 7:38 pm Melvin Arthur Dyes accepted the call to come on home to glory, but before he went he wanted and made sure that his house was in order.

A Memorial Service will be held 11AM, Apr. 17, 2021 at The Church of the Living God 3077 Terrell Ave Beaumont Texas.

Melvin was born April 6, 1942 in Beaumont, Texas. He is the second of three kids that was born of the late Mamie Lee Dyes.

Melvin was preceded in death by his dear sister Henrietta Brown.                                                                                 

Those left to honor Melvin’s memories are his wife Erma Lee Dyes, his daughter: Melba T. Hilliard, his three grandkids: Moses Thomas (Unisha), Monika Thomas (Killeen TX), Myesha Molenda (Walter), four grand great kids: Jakara Thomas, Deondra Frazier, Anyia Thomas (all of Baytown) King Petroy (Killeen TX). His elder brother James Dyes, as well as his nephew: Doug Brown and niece: Eboni Brown both of Dallas TX. Melvin have a host of In-laws and other relatives that will also honor his memories.

Melvin A accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and he knew that he would one day see his Lord. He is a member of The Church of The Living God under the leadership of Bishop S. Terry Goodlow.             

Melvin was raise in the North End of Beaumont by his mother after the passing of his father at an early age. As a young boy he would earn money by being a caddie at the Beaumont Country Club, where he learned the game of golf. The game of his dreams. He loved to play golf and everyone that knew him knew that. He would travel and play all over the play winning many trophies. As a man he worked for many years for the city of Beaumont in the Water Department.

Melvin Arthur Dyes was a humble soul and he loved all the people in his life.
