Lillie Pearl Ligons 74, of Dayton, TX; passed Apr. 14, 2021.
Services will be held Saturday, Apr. 24, 2021 at Turkey Creek Baptist Church 1900 Wallisville Rd. Visitation will begin at 12Noon until Funeral at 2PM. Interment will be in Wells Cemetery Liberty, TX
Lillie was born October 27, 1947 in Liberty, TX to the late Betty Davis and Wilfred Davis. She attended West Liberty Training School and later earned a Lab Tech Certification from Lee College. Lillie enjoyed an illustrious career as the lead document controller for Chevron Refinery for over twenty years. She was also an insurance agent for United Insurance. Lillie was a beloved member of her community. As a trailblazer, she was honored to be the first Black Girl Scout troop leader in her area. At an early age, Lillie accepted Christ into her life and became a devout member of Turkey Creek Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Paul Edward Cross Sr., Pastor A.K. Thomas, and Pastor Terrance Edwards. Lillie actively served the church as a leader of the Pastor’s Aide ministry at Turkey Creek Missionary Baptist Church as well as a Youth Director at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Lillie Pearl lived a life of service where she supported numerous charitable organizations, families in the community, the homeless, and anyone who needed help.
Lillie is preceded in death by her husband Deacon Lawrence Ligons and her siblings: Wilfred Lee Davis Jr., Michael Davis, and Larry James Davis.
She leaves to cherish her memories: children, Cynthia Hightower of Houston, TX, Kim Burrell (Wayne) of Moss Hill, TX, Craig Davis (Misty) of Dayton, TX, Wendy Ligons (Alberto) of Houston, TX, Reginald Ligons (Shantay) of Humble, TX, and Lolita Hill (Euclin) of Houston, TX; grandchildren, LaTravia Hightower, Ashley Ligons, Carols Ligons (Anna), Tristan Ligons, Lawrence Dugat (Cassie), Alonzo Dugat Jr. (Jasmine), Jarrett Thomas, LaMeisha Ligons, Aaliyah Hubbard, Jalyn Davis, Beyonce Hill, Ristian Elliott, Velisa Braxton, Solomon Henderson, Cedric Byrd, Elicia Hill, Ebony Hawkins, Blanca Ortega, and Sofia Ramirez; fourteen great-grandchildren; siblings, Gloria Faye Robinson (Ray) of Dayton, TX, Betty Ann Goffney (Eddie) of Dayton, TX, Robert Lee Davis of Dayton, TX, Louis Lee Davis of Dayton, TX; close friend Jeffrey Perry and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, and a community of friends who will miss her dearly.
