LaKisha Rochelle Thomas (AKA, Kisha), 39 passed on April 15, 2029. A Public Viewing will be held on May 2, 2020 from 9AM-10AM at Proctor’s Mortuary 3522 Washington Blvd. Beaumont, TX. Family will have a private viewing following. Interment will be in Live Oak Cemetery.

Kisha was born on July 8, 1980 the eleventh child of Gus Thomas, Jr. and Beatrice Leday Thomas.

Kisha accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at an early age. She was smart, witty, and caring. In 1998 she graduated from Central High School, Beaumont, Texas where she had been a member of the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC). She graduated from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas with an associate Degree in Business and was pursing her Bachelor Degree at the time of her passing.

Kisha was employed by Lamar University as an Administrative Coordinator in the Business Department where for sixteen (16) years she was a guiding beacon to students in the Beta Gramma Sigma National Honor Society. She loved shepherding students in pursue of their academic success.

Kisha had a loving relationship with her entire family but, “the apple of her eye” was her niece, Bri’Ann Thomas to whom she was an unwavering presence. The bond between them will never be broken because it is eternal.

Kisha was preceded in death by her Father: Gus Thomas, Jr.; Brother: Daly Lee Thomas and Sister: Cynthia Diann Thomas.

Those left to cherish fond memories of her included her Mother: Beatrice LaDay Thomas; Sisters: Marie Otokiti of Mesquite, Texas, Debra Bennett(Norris), Catherine Green, Gustavia Thomas and Mary Wilson(Donald) all of Beaumont, Texas; Brothers: Gus Thomas(her Godfather), Terry Thomas(Carol), Kevin Thomas(Melanie) and Brian Thomas all of Beaumont, Texas; Godchildren: Anaiya Richards of Opelousas,Louisiana and Timothy Thomas of Beaumont, Texas, fourteen nieces, seven nephews, seven great nephews and a host of family and friends.
