Josephine Smith 94, of Anahauc, TX; passed Feb. 08, 2021.

Josephine Smith, 94, lifelong resident of Anahuac, Texas died in the early hours of February 8, 2021 at Methodist Hospital in Baytown Texas. Josephine was born February 27, 1926 to the late Kyle and Anna Smith. She was the second of seventeen children from the marriage

Josephine grew up in the Anahuac with her siblings. She was baptized at St. James United Church at the age of eight and remained a faithful member her entire life. Though a working mother she devoted much time to raising four children. A loving, compassionate mother she was an instructive parent that insisted on good behavior, respect for adults, Sunday school and church attendance, and education. When necessary she applied effective discipline. Aside from her own children she was the ‘mother hen” of many of the children of the neighborhood.

She received much joy in service. She was a devout and dedicated member of St. James throughout her life, serving in any needed capacity. She also volunteered to serve residents at the local nursing home, helping with feeding, leading prayer service, and calling bingo, along with encouraging those that needed it. Josephine loved everybody and forged countless friendships throughout the area. Her love had no limits.
