Joseph Dennis Zachere of Port Barry, Louisiana

MARCH 17, 1934 – APRIL 12, 2020 

Joseph Dennis Zachere was born in Port Barry, Louisiana, on March 17, 1934, to the late Dennis Zachary and Martha Glauston. He was employed with the Jefferson County DD #6 for thirty years as a supervisor before retiring. He also had a passion for mechanic work and served as a neighborhood mechanic in Voths. Joseph was a member of St.Pius Catholic church. He met and married his soul mate Lucy Mae Pete on July 11, 1953. The union between Joseph and Lucy brought five children.

Joseph is preceded in death by spouse Lucy Mae Pete Zachere, sons Joseph D. Zachere Jr., Elmer Craig Zachere, and grandson Keith K. Corbin Jr. His love will always be remembered and cherished by daughters Judy Corbin, Sherry Martin (Wadley Sr.) of Beaumont, TX, and sons Reggie Zachere of Houston, TX and Joseph Nixon of Beaumont, TX. A sister Mary Ann (Connie) Collier of Beaumont, TX. His fond memories will also be missed by his 17 grandkids, 25 great-grandkids, and six great-great grandkids—a host of nieces, nephews’ other relatives, and friends.
