Irma “Emma” Lee Martin of Beaumont, Texas

Irma “Emma” Lee Martin, 74, of Beaumont TX beloved mother and grandmother went home to be with our Lord and Savior on April 7th,2020 at home where she was surrounded by her loved ones.

Emma Lee Martin was born in Houston, TX on February 24th,1946 to the late John Roberts Sr. and Dorothy Roberts. She was a native of Rayne LA where she graduated from Acadia Parish High School. She then married Joseph “Buck” Martin Sr, and they bore a son Joseph Martin Jr. She was a member of Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Rayne LA and a member of the church choir until she moved to Beaumont TX where she resided for 42 years, she later became a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Emma enjoyed cooking, baking, shopping, and singing.

She loved her family with all her heart especially when we had a family gathering. Her grandchildren brought her great joy as she spent most of her time with them.

Emma was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Martin Sr, and her parents John and Dorothy Roberts, her brothers John Roberts Jr and Patrick Roberts, and her beloved son Timothy “Slugg” Jackson.

She leaves to cherish her memories her three sons Joseph Martin Jr (Angela) of Beaumont TX, Troy Danrich of Beaumont TX, and Frank Yokum of Rayne LA, her brothers Stanley Roberts Sr (Faye) of Houston TX, Eric Roberts (Rosa) of Beaumont TX, Tyler Roberts Sr (Tina) of Rayne LA, and Elliot Roberts of Bazile LA, her sisters Patricia Bonnom (Elton) of Rayne LA, Althea White (Jessie) of Rayne LA, Jacqueline Domingue(Milton) of Houston TX, Katherine Jackson-Carter of Rayne LA, Mary Lou Nickson(Edward) of Rayne LA, and Jonnie Roberts of Rayne LA. Her granddaughters Japoria and Atia Martin, Zenntilickqua Purdy, Whitney Simmons, and Tiera Danrich all of Beaumont TX her 8 great granddaughters and 7 great grandsons, her godchildren James Jolivette and Jessie Paul White, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

A Private Visitation will be held April 15, 2020 at Proctor’s Mortuary 3522 Washington Blvd. Beaumont, TX.
