Ernestine “Dollie Mae” Moore 94, of Beaumont, TX; transitioned to be with Lord on Dec. 28, 2021.

Services will be held Saturday, Jan. 08, 2022 at Paradise Missionary Baptist Church 4390 Fannett Rd, Beaumont, TX. Visitation will begin at 11AM until Funeral at 1PM. Entombment will be in Live Oak Cemetery Beaumont, TX.

Ernestine Davis-Moore was born Tuesday, July 5, 1927 in Waskom, Texas to the parents of Rev. Ollie Lee Davis, Sr. and Mollie Ann Spillman-Davis. She received her elementary education in Waskom, Texas at Mount Zion School. At the age of 9 years old, the family moved to Shreveport, Louisiana where she later attended Central Colored High School, which is now Booker T. Washington High School and was a part of the graduating class of 1946.

Ernestine loved her family and she loved people. She met no stranger and always said that she truly loved everyone.  One of the things she would say often is “I might not like their ways, but I love them”.

On February 1, 1947 mother was united in holy matrimony to her childhood sweetheart, Horace Lee Moore. To their union 7 children were born. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Horace Lee Moore; her parents, Rev. Ollie Lee Davis, Sr. and Mollie Ann Spillman-Davis; her seven siblings, Irene Davis Hughes, Ollie Davis, Jr., Curtis Ray Davis, Edward Richard Davis, Lola Davis Davenport, Martha Hamilton and Mary Jones.

Mother was raised in a Christian home and took those values to heart. She was baptized at an early age at Shiloh Baptist Church in Mooringsport, Louisiana. Upon moving to Beaumont, Texas, she joined East Mount Olive Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. M.D. Pinkney. In 1960, she was one of the founders of Paradise Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Rayburn Newton, where she served diligently as Church Secretary, Deaconess, Sunday School Teacher, Church Historian and Choir Soloist. She was also a part of the kitchen ministry and a member of the prayer band where they would travel to visit the sick and shut in for prayer.  Mother was truly a saved women who loved worshiping the lord.

She leaves to cherish her memories; three daughters; Doris Moore-Young (Jimmy), Vera Moore-Guidry and Lisa Moore-Ardoin (Jerry); four sons; Charles Moore, Robert Moore, Curtis Moore all of Beaumont, Texas and Kevin Moore of Los Angeles, CA; one sister; Ollie B. Davis Harper, of Shreveport, LA; sister in laws; Annie C. Esters of Karnack, Texas, Joyce Mckever, of Shreveport, LA and Bernice Boseman of Pomona, CA; one brother in law; William Boseman of Pomona, CA; 11 grandchildren; Eric Moore, Quincy Young, Emmett Young, Timika Moore-Peterson (Seanriley), Tiffany Young, Stephanie Moore, DeAndreia Moore, Quinton Moore, Derek Scott (Jessica), Jerald Ardoin and Jayla Ardoin; 8 great grandchildren;  four special nieces; Alice Collins of Shreveport, LA, Joyce Harris of Los Angeles, CA and Brenda Perez of Dallas, Texas, Georgia Bennett of Spartanburg, SC; two honorary daughters; Lois Thompson of Beaumont, Texas and Brenda Mosely of Beaumont, Texas; one special cousin; Joyce Spencer Bennett of Beaumont, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives, friends and many that loved her dearly.
