Ernest Thibodeaux Sr. of Beaumont, Texas

Ernest Thibodeaux Sr., 86, of Beaumont, TX; passed July 22, 2020.

Services will be Wednesday, Aug. 05, 2020 at Proctor’s Mortuary Beaumont, TX. A public viewing will begin at 9AM until 10:30AM, and a private funeral will begin at 11AM. 

Ernest Thibodeaux Sr. was born on July 02, 1934 in Plaisance, LA.  

Ernest was the second of eleven children born to the late Linus and Evaline Thibodeaux. After graduating from high school in Plaisance he unselfishly helped to put his younger siblings through school after his parents’ deaths.  He moved to Beaumont, Texas in the early 1960’s.  There he met and charmed a young lady named Celestine Collins and they were married in 1962.  He worked hard in the construction industry to support his wife and the 3 sons and 3 daughters born into this union.  He was one of the laborers who helped build Parkdale Mall and he retired from Brown & Root in 1999.  He loved teasing his family and enjoyed anything pertaining to farming.  In his later years he was familiar to most people in the neighborhood as he rode around on his scooter or sat on the front porch speaking to everyone who passed by.  Affectionally known as “T-Bo” he will be very much missed by those who loved him.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, and 8 of his siblings.  

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 58 years, Celestine Thibodeaux, two sisters Armed Atkinson and Mary Jane Holloway, three sons Gregory Collins, Ernest Thibodeaux Jr (Genene), Bryan Thibodeaux (Shermane), three daughters Debra Thibodeaux, Yolanda Thibodeaux, Tonya Waters (Byron), 7 grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
