Ernest L. Taylor Sr.

Ernest L. Taylor Sr. 85, of Beaumont, TX; passed Aug. 15. 2022.

Services are Saturday, Aug. 27, 2022 Greater Good Hope Baptist Church 2725 W Virginia St. Beaumont, TX. Visitation will begin at 9AM until Funeral at 11AM. Interment will be in Live Oak Cemetery Beaumont, TX.

Ernest was born January 1, 1937, to George E. Taylor and Hattie Mae Taylor of Waco, Texas. 

Ernest was in the Airforce from January 4,1954 to March 30,1966. He was in the Korean and Vietnam war. He received his G.E.D while in the service April 23,1961.

He got married while in the service to Ruthie Hamilton, and they had three children together and they later got a divorce sometime in late 1962. After the Airforce he moved to Washington D.C (1966-1971) where he drove cabs and joined Shriners & Masonic. He decided that he wanted to move back close to his family to Dallas 1971-1974 where he lived with his mother. Then he later moved to Waco, Texas in late 1974, where he started working for Ryder Truck Rental. Later on, he started campaigning for Lester Gibson and Mr. Gibson won. The he moved to Beaumont Texas 2018 up until he passed.

He is preceded in death by George E. Taylor (father), Hattie Mae Taylor(mother), George E. Taylor Jr. (brother), Virgil M. Grant(sister), Emily Mae Tucker(niece), and Nicole Newson(great-niece).

His mournful survivors are Elmer Taylor (brother), Elivra Jones(sister) of Dallas Texas, Ruthie Ashley his ex-wife and his children, Ernest L Taylor Jr. (son), Tony Taylor(son) Lysa Taylor (daughter in law) and Brenda Green(daughter) Lionel Green (son in law). Grandchildren as follows Yolanda Taylor (Carl Andrews), Orlando Morris, Micheal Morris (Emmetra Morris), Ronnie Morris, Shannon Taylor, Rikkieta Taylor, Jason Taylor, Elza Tender, Lacretia Jamison and Felicia Taylor along with a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
