Edward Ray James Jr. 53, of Beaumont, TX; on October 6, 2022, God look around and saw you were tired. He put his loving arms around you and whispered in your ear ” Come unto me my child and get your rest”.
Services will be held Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022, at Antioch Baptist Church 3920 Cardinal Dr. Beaumont, TX. Visitation will begin at 8AM until Funeral at 10AM. Interment will be in Live Oak Cemetery Beaumont, TX.
Edward was born on August 30, 1969, in Lafayette, La., to MaryAnn James and the late Edward Ray James Sr. He obtained his High School Diploma from Opelousas High in 1987 and relocated to Beaumont, Tx., where he met the love of his life Shannon Batiste (James): to their union three beautiful children were born Ashley, Edward III and Christopher. He was also employed by LyondellBasell for 30 years as a Process Specialist.
Edward was preceded in death by his father: Edward Ray James Sr., Stepfather: Charlie Beverly, grandparents: Melton & Flora Mae James, Leroy & Avelina Carrier, five uncles: Gile Carrier, Leron Carrier, Haywood Lee James, Felton James, Melton James Jr., Earline LeDay and Leona Trahan.
Edward leaves to cherish his loving memories his wife of 32 years Shannon James, daughter: Ashley (Micheal) Jackson, two sons’: Edward iii (Elsie) James of Lafayette, La., and Christopher (Erinnyssia) James of Beaumont, TX. Four grandchildren: Leyah Reynolds, JaCoby James, Eljiah Jackson & Alyssa Jackson all oof Beaumont, TX. His mother: MaryAnn James of Beaumont, TX., Two brothers: Donald (Lucille) James of Port Barrier, La., Carl James of Opelousas La., Four sisters: Melissa James Thomas of Houston, TX. Ashley (Derrick) Charles of Beaumont, TX. Samantha James of Opelousas, La., Elizabeth Penson of Dallas, TX., three uncles: Eldridge (Norma) Carrier Lawtell, La, Micheal (Mary) Carrier Church Point, La., Micheal (Dorothy) Trahan Baytown, TX, two aunts: Barbara (Gerald) Collins of Slidell, La., and Shirley Stubbs of Lafayette La., one sister-in-law: Sheila (James) Gardiner of Lafayette, La., and one brother-in-law: Johnathan Batiste of Beaumont, TX., a host of Nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
