Deborah Lynn Goree departed this life on Friday, August 27th, 2021. She was born in Beaumont, Texas on August 1st, 1954 to Michael and Betty Lois Stewart.
She attended Hebert High School and later graduated with an Associate’s degree in Business and Computer Information Systems from Lamar Institute of Technology at the age of 53.
Deborah worked at Spindletop Centers, previously known as Beaumont State Center, for 28 years where she developed lifelong friendships and bonds with many of her coworkers. She was known for her customer friendly nature and strong work ethic as a Medical Records Clerk in the center’s Central Records Department.
Deborah was a socialite. She absolutely loved music, especially live music, and spending time with friends. She was a member of Frankie’s Angels. She and some of her friends playfully called themselves the 50+ Divas. As a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, she served as a greeter. Deborah enjoyed traveling and learning new things, but she especially adored her family. She sought to spend every moment she could with them through family cookouts, short trips and frequent video chats.
She is survived by her five children, Alishia Stewart, Clyde Goree II, Rikisha Goree, Cedric Goree, and Tamara Goree; one brother, Kenneth Ray Stewart; and a three sisters, Sherri Spencer, Sandra Lawrence and Hazel Lewis . She leaves to cherish her memory nine grandchildren, Malik Stewart, Princess Crawford, Tremain Reed, Major Goree, A. Elijah Wells III, Celysia Goree, Josiah Goree, Keonus Moore, Naterah Moore. She is loved by eight nieces and nephews, Kendailyn Stewart, S. Jerome Stewart, Zachary Keller, Xavier Spencer, Zion Escobar, Nicole Petry, Lashanda and Ebonia Windfield, 19 great nieces and nephews as well as a host of relatives and friends.
Deborah was preceded in death by her parents, Michael Stewart and Betty Lois Anderson as well as her brother Barry Stewart.
