Deacon Alex J. Morris Jr.

August 18, 1943 – December 11, 2021

Alex J. Morris Jr. 78, of Beaumont, TX; was called by God from labor to reward while at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont TX; on December 11, 2021.

Services will be Saturday, Dec. 18, 2021 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church 3920 W Cardinal Dr, Beaumont, TX. Visitation will begin at 10AM until Funeral at 11AM. Burial will be Dec. 22, 2021 in Houston National Cemetery Houston, TX. Gate Time is at 9AM.

Alex was born to the parents of Elizabeth Robinson and Alex Morris Sr. on August 18, 1943.

Alex graduated from Emma H. Wallace High School in Orange, Texas from the proud Class of 1963. He then met and married The Love of His Life Barbara J. Jacko and had 4 beautiful children.

He joined the U.S. Army and spent his time working and serving his country, ultimately retiring in 1987. Following his retirement, he was employed as a worker for The City of Beaumont for 29 years. He also served as a Deacon at Borden Chapel Missionary Baptist Church and Antioch Missionary Baptist church for many years. Deacon Morris was a hard worker and man of God and a wonderful servant. He loved to cook and spent time with family.

He is preceded in death by his Mother Elizabeth Robinson; Father Alex Morris Sr., Son, Alex Morris III; Brother Daniel Morris; Brother, John Morris; Sisters Katherine Morris and Celestine Morris.

Alex’s love and memories will remain in the hearts of his children; David Morris (Yolanda), Kenneth Morris, Catrina Jackson and Christopher Morris. Grandchildren Jalynn Morris, Jameria Morris, Jeremiah Jackson, Montgomery Morris, Devin Morris, Damarcus Jackson, McKinley Morris and 5 Great Grandchildren.

He will be sorely missed by surviving siblings; Matthew Morris (Carla), Michael Morris (Michelle), James Morris, Hampton Fontenot, Betty Ann Morris, Leona Morris and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
