Charles was born January 28, 1961, at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana to Frederick Franklin and Ora Lee Diggs.

Anthony as he was called by his family and friends was educated in the New Orleans Public Schools system. He graduated from Booker T Washington High School in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Anthony gave his live to Christ as a young child while attending Star Bethel Baptist church with his mother and grandmother but later he converted to the Muslim faith.

Anthony was a truck driver. He worked for Orleans Transportation company as a limousine driver for many years.

Anyone who knew Anthony knew he loved everything about Carnival Time, the people, food, and music. Some of his favorite music were by The Meters, Rebirth Brass Band, and Wild Magnolias to name a few. While living in New Orleans, during Mardi Gras and Super Sundays, Anthony would strut his handmade costume he made himself. He loved being a Mardi Gras Indian “Spy Boy” as he marched ahead of his tribe along the parade route, acting as a lookout. He was truly “504” strong.

Anthony was proceeded in death by his parents Frederick Franklin and Ora Lee Diggs, Grandparents Raymond and Violet Allridge Diggs, Brothers Harold B. Briggs and Raymond B. Franklin, Aunt Mae Jewel Pate.

Anthony leaves to cherish his memories; his son Charles A. Franklin, Jr. (Sade) of New Orleans, Louisiana, grandchildren: Chase and Chasade Franklin of New Orleans, Louisiana. Brothers: Rev. Arthur G. Briggs (Dionne) of New Orleans, Louisiana, Thomas H. Briggs (Betsy) of Vallejo, California, Henry E. Briggs of Houston, Texas. Aunts: Joann Roberts and Martha J. Owens (Frank) of Beaumont, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
