Charles Alfred of Humbel, TX; formerly of Beaumont, TX; departed this well lived life on November 8, 2022, at the blessed age of 75.

Services are Thursday, Nov. 17, 2022, at Cathedral of Faith Baptist Church 3755 Fannett Rd. Beaumont, TX. Visitation will begin at 8AM until Funeral at 10AM. Burial will be 2PM in Houston National Cemetery Houston, Texas.

Charles L. Alfred was born November 7, 1947, in Bunkie, Louisiana to Albert Alfred Sr. and Ruby Lee Robinson.

Charles grew up in Beaumont, Texas and attended Pleasant Green Baptist Church under the direction of Pastor Hayes. He graduated from Hebert High School, Class of 1967.

Charles joined the army shortly after high school and was a part of the US Army Personnel, stationed in Oakland, California. He was able to travel the world and received several awards. He was honorably discharged in April of 1974.

Charles drove the UPS truck for quite some time and then branched out and opened up his own company as a Master Painter and a Carpenter for over 40 years.

In 2011 he met the love of his life Ester Faye Thomas. They united in marriage February 1, 2013, and from that union he gained three children. After retiring, his favorite pastime was spending time with family, sitting outside barbecuing, and listening to music. If ever in Charles’s presence, he would always make you feel comfortable and like family.  

Charles was preceded in death by his parents Ruby Robinson and Albert Alfred. His grandparents that raised him, Mardella and Eddie Alfred, two of his brothers Albert Alfred Jr. and Curley Flinn Alfred, and his son Byron Keith Alfred. 

He is survived by his wife, Ester Alfred; his two sons, Devin Alfred, Desmond “DJ” Alfred and one daughter, Monica Alfred all of Dallas, Tx. His three stepchildren, Eleanor Chinn (Eric) of Pineland, Tx, Robert Cauley of Beaumont, Tx, Constance Martin (Devin) of Humble, Tx. His sisters Doris Wilson (Curtis), Margie Nell Ambres, and Cherrie Ann Callahan, his brother Clarence Alfred, a host of grandchildren, family, and friends.
