Services will be held Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020 at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church 4445 Avenue A, Beaumont, TX. Rosary will begin at 10AM and Memorial Service at 10:30AM.

Alvin L. Prosper was born to Ada and Lawrence Prosper Sr. on March 26, 1937 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He worked in Shipyards for many years until he started working with his brother Lawrence Jr. as a masonry hard carrier as well as a ceramic tile installer.

Alvin came to Beaumont, Texas from New Orleans when Hurricane Katrina hit his beloved city. He lived with his sister Gloria and brother in law Robert Gerard Sr. until an apartment became available at the Gateway Senior Housing. From there he moved to the Crossing Apartments until he could no longer do for himself.

Alvin shared an apartment with his brother Darrell Prosper. He had a love of feeding birds, drawing and flying kites which he purchased from Sam’s and he flew them every year.

Alvin was preceded in death by his parents: Lawrence, Sr. and Ada Prosper, Daughter: Dawn Odomes, Siblings: Gerald Prosper Sr. (Gwen), Maurice Prosper Sr., Martin Prosper, Sr. and Cecilia Prosper-Smith

Alvin went to be with the Lord leaving behind his memories to his granddaughter: Precious Acker, step daughter; Kristi Givens, and son in law: Napoleon Odomes; brothers: Lawrence Prosper Jr. (Sarah), Darrell Prosper, Sr. (Sandra); sisters: Gloria Gerard (Robert Sr.), Mary Prevost (Greg), Linda Prosper and a host of nieces and nephews and host of relatives and friends.
