Alton Ray Wilson Jr. “Pooh” of Beaumont, Texas

December 1, 1959 – January 11, 2020

Alton Ray Wilson Jr. “Pooh” passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas on January 11, 2020 at the age of 60.

Alton was born in Beaumont, Texas on Dec. 1, 1959 to the union of Alton Ray Wilson Sr. And Cora Andrews Wilson. He graduated high school from Beaumont Charlton Pollard in 1979 and went on to join the United States Navy where he served as a Seaman Specialist from 1979 to 1982.

Alton enjoyed singing, attending church, various forms of music, playing multiple instruments, Karate (Black belt), and playing with his grandchildren.

Alton was preceded in death by his mother, Cora Andrews Hill, his father Alton Ray Wilson Sr and his maternal grandparents Willie Andrews Sr. and Albertha Andrews.

Alton is survived by his wife Nellie Dean Wilson of 24 years. They were married in Beaumont, Texas on April 22, 1995.

Alton Ray Wilson Jr. is lovingly remembered by his children Toccora Chambers (Sonjay), Angela Dean, Alfred Dean (Monica), Kenneth Dean (Crystal), Lakeisha Dean; Two brothers, Ernest Landry (Patricia) of Beaumont, Texas, Allen Ray Landry (Denise) of Austin, Texas; 18 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 4 aunts, 2 uncles, and host of family and friends.

The celebration of life for Alton Wilson Jr. will be held at McKinley Ave. Baptist Church, 775 Cuniff, Beaumont, Texas 77701 on January 18, 2020. Reverend Allen Williams is Officiating;The viewing of the body will be held from 10:00am until funeral at 11:00am followed by Burial to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
