Alfred “Buzz” Thompson Jr. 81, of Beaumont, TX; passed Dec. 02, 2020.

Service will be Saturday, Dec. 12, 2020 at Borden Chapel 3495 Roland Rd Beaumont, TX. Public Viewing will begin at 12Noon until Funeral at 2PM. Interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery Beaumont, TX.

Alfred Jr. was born on March 23, 1939 in Dimebox, Texas to the late Alfred Thompson, Sr. and Bernice Lillian Wilson-Thompson.
Buzz was a long time resident of Beaumont. He graduated from Charlton-Pollard high school in 1957 and he enlisted in the United States Army shortly after graduation.
Upon returning to Beaumont, Buzz made history by becoming the first city bus driver of color, several years later he started a career in the oil refinery industry at Union 76 until 1990 when he moved to Northern California to work until he retired in 2001 and again returning to Beaumont.
In October 1963 Alfred and Julia Etta Zeno to this union one daughter was born Lois Yvette Thompson on November 28, 1966.
He lived a full and blessed life and made a peaceful transition.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, siblings: Harvey Brown, Ella “Sissy” Harden, Burnett “Pop” Leon, Donald Ray, Wilson “Roy” Sr., Carl and Charles Earl.
He leaves to cherish his memory, Daughter: Lois Yvette Thompson of Beaumont; Sister: Beverly Kelly of Beaumont and Robbie Plaines of Fort Worth; Special Daughter whom he cared for Roben Vallar; Grandchildren: DeVante’ “Shawn” Shay and Kiauna “Kiki” Yarbough all of Beaumont; Goddaughter: Annette Joseph Coward of Beaumont and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
