Larry was born on September 6, 1952, in Beaumont, Texas to Alcide and Arlene Durall. During his formative years, Larry’s precocious nature fuelled his life-long passion for fun and adventure. Always the life of the party, Larry was easy to get along with. He never met a stranger and could often be found visiting a kindly elderly neighbor; much to the dismay of his mother who often sent his older siblings in search of him.

Larry graduated from Hebert High School. In 1970, Larry entered the United States Army where he proudly served as Armor Crewman. During his service, Larry earned a National Defense Service Medal. After Larry was honorably discharged from the military, he returned to Beaumont and studied Business Administration at Chenier Business College. After completing his studies, Larry relocated to San Francisco, California and went to work for Bank of America as an Operations Officer.

It was in California, that he met and married the love of his life, Pamela Sims-Durall of Oakland, California. Together, Larry and Pam had their only child, Larry Durall Jr., who they loved and cherished.

Larry had many interests, he enjoyed fishing, writing poetry, watching sports, and spending time with friends and family. Larry truly loved life and lived it with gusto and without fear. Larry also was a very spiritual person and had a deep conviction of faith.
