Murphy Lee Broussard
September 20, 1947 – October 20, 2021
Murphy Lee Broussard, age 74 of Raywood, Texas passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Methodist Hospital in Baytown, Texas. Murphy was born on September 20, 1947 to parents Douglas John Broussard and Geraldine Broussard.
Murphy was a very hard working man and had a heart which flowed love for others deeper than the deepest of seas. He loved his wife of 56 years and loved her until death done them part. He loved his family and would do anything to ensure they didn’t have to go without. Following the sixth grade, he dropped out of school to help his parents provide for their family. Shortly after marriage and barely out of their honeymoon phase; Murphy saw a need, stepped up to the challenge and accepted the roll as father to his six (6) sister-in-laws following the death of his mother-in-law in addition to his very own daughter at a very young age of 21. He worked as a heavy haul truck driver for 40 years, but he was forced into retirement due to health reasons. Murphy’s love language was service. He displayed his level of love to everyone with his love and passion for cooking. He was well known for his Bar-B-Que and the smile on the faces of those who had the chance to taste it simply filled his heart with pure joy. Murphy never met a stranger and everyone left as a friend.
Murphy was preceded in death by his father John Broussard, brother’s Larry Broussard and Donald Broussard, father-in-law Frances Edwards and mother-in-law Margaret Redmon Edwards.
