Mother Esther Rose Broussard Haley of Beaumont, Texas

September 25, 1949 – September 18, 2020

Mother Esther Rose Broussard Haley, age 70, peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, September 18, 2020, while in Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Tx surrounded by loved ones.

Services will be Saturday, Sept. 26, 2020 at The Gospel of Jesus Christ Church 2575 Wilson St, Beaumont, TX. Visitation will begin at 9AM until funeral at 11AM.

Mother Esther was born in Crowley, La. to the late Walford and Gloria Mae Broussard. She resided in Beaumont, TX; until the Lord called her home.

She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized in the Mermentau River in Mermentau, La. Later in life she became a faithful member of The Gospel of Jesus Christ Church, pastored by Bishop Castile Colbert, Jr., where she once served as a Pastor’s Aid member and Mother of the Church. Esther was a retired nurse from Beaumont State Center after working there for almost 20 years. She had so much love for her patients that she came out of retirement to work as a private duty nurse until her health started to fail.

Mother Esther was preceded in death by her parents: Walford Broussard and Gloria Mae Broussard, brother: Ronald Broussard and sister: Catherine Anderson.

Mother Esther is survived by her husband: Larry Gene Haley, sons: Sean (Tracy) Withers of Houston, TX; and LaRon (YoQuita) Withers of Houston, TX; daughters: Heather (Dwight) Ramsey of Beaumont, TX., and Chelsea (Jedadiah) Mathews of Beaumont, TX. Brothers: Frank (Carolyn) Broussard of Plaquemine, La., Leon (Rita) Broussard of Silverwood, La., Douglas (Dawn) Broussard of Lake Charles, La., and Alan Broussard of Silverwood, La. Sisters: Pamela (Terry) Jones of Houston, TX, Paulette La Fleur of Beaumont, TX., Brunhilda (Reginald) Rice of Memphis, TN, and Renee Leftwich of Beaumont, TX; twelve grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, many bonus grandchildren, nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
